One of our main goals as a ministry to kids is to support parents as the primary disciplers of their children. In our weekend Grace Kids classes the truth of God's Word is talked about in age appropriate ways. These questions are designed to help you extend the weekend lesson from church and engage in conversation with your kids. If you have questions or suggestions, please let us know.

Dinner Discussions- September 28/29

Book: Jonah

Abstract: Hello Families! This weekend we learned about the Prophet Jonah! Otherwise known as, “the one that was swallowed by a fish.” The reason for this swallowing is that Jonah instead of listening TO God ran FROM God. What Jonah didn’t understand is that God is a loving and gracious God towards everyone, not just Israel. The people Jonah was supposed to minister to were the Ninevites, a people known for their ruthless actions toward other nations, especially Israel. God, in spite of this, still sent a message of mercy if they would repent and believe in Him. Guess who is the perfect example of this?... Jesus, because He brought the same news of salvation to us!

Dinner Questions:

    1. What does mercy mean and how do we know God is merciful towards us?
  2. 1st Grade- 6th Grade
    1. Why was it hard for Jonah to obey God in this situation? Why is it difficult for us to obey God?
    2. The Ninevites were called to repent and believe, what do these words mean?
    3. God sent his Son Jesus to bring us this message and God sent Jonah to bring this message to the Ninevites, who does he send to tell that message now?
