One of our main goals as a ministry to kids is to support parents as the primary disciplers of their children. In our weekend Grace Kids classes the truth of God's Word is talked about in age appropriate ways. These questions are designed to help you extend the weekend lesson from church and engage in conversation with your kids. If you have questions or suggestions, please let us know. kids@gracebaptist.org

Bible Passage: Nehemiah 8-13

Abstract: Last week we saw Jerusalem under Nehemiah's leadership build their wall in 52 days! Now with the law built what comes next? Well, though the wall provided physical protection they are still missing components of their heritage! Most importantly, the focus on the Law of God. They have forgotten over the 70 years in exile what it meant to follow the one true God as a people group. The first steps were building the wall and Temple, but Ezra reminded them of their covenant with God by reading to them the law of Moses and establishing the various festivals that were important to Israel as a nation. After hearing and learning, Israel saw their sin and repented for the wrong they did towards God, renewing once again their lost covenant with Him! Only God has the power to save which is why He gave us the greatest Savior Jesus.

Dinner Discussions:

  1. 3 year Old's- 6th Grade
    1. How did the reading of God's Word cause Israel to see their sin and repent?
    2. What does it mean to repent?
    3. How does reading the Bible change us today?
    4. Israel responded by reading God's Word and repenting because they knew they were disobedient to God. How do we respond to be saved because we have sinned against God?
