Returning Hearts Celebration
Friday, April 20th at Noon to 5:30 pm at Pitchess Detention Center and Grace's Campus
Returning Hearts Celebration is a one day event that will unite children with their prison inmate fathers and grandfathers to begin the long road of breaking the cycle of crime. This fun, carnival-style atmosphere promotes hope, joy, and reconciliation while introducing many kids and their fathers to the gospel.
Pre-Event Training is on Sunday, April 15th at Grace Baptist Church - Room and Time TBA.
The model for this ministry began at Angola Prison and is being duplicated in prisons throughout the United States with tremendous success. AWANA tools and materials are used to teach forgiveness and reconciliation. This great day of renewal is only possible with your help...YOU can make a difference...YOU can be a part of this ministy by:
Praying for the event - the volunteers, dads, guardians, caretakers, and children.
Making a donation - send a check made payable to GBC marked RHC in the memo line.
Volunteering at the event - volunteers are needed for registration, carnival games, food services, transportation, family assistance at the prison and at Grace helping with the children’s guardians and caretakers during the event. There is also ministry opportunity prior to the event by making family contacts and preparing materials for the event.
Just like any other Short-Term Mission Trip, even though it is just one day, there are expenses. To raise the approximately $10,000 needed to support this outreach, we are asking all volunteers to donate $50 or more or find a ministry partner or partners to assist with donating these funds. The donations will be used for Bibles, back packs, prizes for the children to take home, T-Shirts, rental expenses for carnival booths and inflatable’s, invitations, postage, meals, and other ministry expenses. It is our intention that this continuing ministry be self-sustaining.
