As we have discovered in the last several years, missionaries in the Czech Republic have crafted a creative strategy to help local churches reach young people through an evangelistic English Camp.  Our Czech team will be providing a camp experience for believing and unbelieving Czech teenagers, with the team members serving as conversation partners. 

Josiah Venture (the mission with whom we partner) focuses on relationships and relational evangelism.

Nate (onsite missionary) reports

We spent yesterday with the Bohumin camp. It was great to be with everyone. It seems like their camp went pretty well. I think there was one person who accepted Christ and maybe others, but I haven't heard anything today.

We're at follow up now. Keep praying, God is doing amazing things in Bohumin. Can't wait to tell you about it.

Thursday night at 7:15 (10:15 am California time) is the Gospel presentation. The few hours following will be open for follow-up discussions.

THURSDAY, JULY 26, 2007

Becky writes:

All ten of us are here at Malenovice for the last night of training.  Tomorrow morning we head to Bohumin camp, which is only 20 minutes away from Malenovice this year.  It's been beautiful weather. 

About 4 of the team members have been fighting headaches, sore throat, cough, mild fever, etc.  Everyone seems to be doing a bit better today.  

Please pray for the unity of our team, the Bohumin ministry team, and Brad's intern team (we meet them tomorrow at the camp).  Students come to camp on Saturday.

TUESDAY, JULY 24, 2007

Becky writes:

The eight of us are safe and sound here at Malenovice.  We had nice, cool weather for our travel day.  We are in line to get room keys.  Travel was nice and smooth, with lots of room and good conversation on the bus.  Everybody is pushing through the jet-lag pretty well and staying awake all day.  

Thanks for the prayers as we start three days of cross-cultural ministry training.  Kent and Emily will be joining us on Thursday.  They are in Prague today and tomorrow for debrief with the Cheb team.  Josiah Venture staff will be there to pick them up from the train station.

The team arrived at the hotel in Prague this morning around 10:30 am (California time).  They are getting settled in their rooms and then will be heading out to dinner with the Josiah Venture missionaries.

All team members and their bags arrived together!!!
