Nicaragua - July 14th-26th, 2005

Updated August 11, 2005 (from the pastor of the church in Nicaragua)

An Update from REV. ISAEL LUNA R. Pastor

PRIMERA IGLESIA BAUTISTA EMANUEL DE MASAYA, NICARAGUA

Brothers

GRACE BAPTIST CHURCH

Santa Clarita , California

Loved Ones by God and Brothers in Jesus Christ:

Receive a sincere hello on our behalf. Our cordial greeting is for all of you wishing that our Lord almighty will continue blessing you.

We are writing to you to acknowledge you and to let you know that we are highly appreciative with our Lord and you as a church, to have allowed this group of sisters and brothers to come to visit us and work so effectively on the Lord's kingdom in our country, especially here in Masaya and its surrounding areas.

The work of this group has been a complete success. Brother Eugenio (Gene Siwak) and Brother David (Cea) have done a great job coordinating and directing.

Our prayer is that the Lord protects and strengthens you always. I want to thank you on behalf of our Central Church and the congregation for your generous gift to continue the development of this church and its congregation.

With our hearts filled with thankfulness we wish that the Lord prospers you now and always.

Fraternally,

REV. ISAEL LUNA R. Pastor

PRIMERA IGLESIA BAUTISTA EMANUEL DE MASAYA, NICARAGUA

Updated Tuesday, July 26: from Team Leader David Ceqa

Thank you to all for your prayers for our team.  God had blessed us enormously on this mission, and we were able to do more than what we expected to do.  We are very thankful with God - He has been with us from the beginning to the end and we are very happy we were able to glorify His name.  Our plane will be departing from Nicaragua today at 3:45 PM and is due to arrive at LAX at 11:55 PM.   Thank you again for your prayers.

Updated Thursday, July 20:

We bring you greetings and an update on the Nicaragua Team. Yesterday was our first outing going door to door and we began the VBS.

The Lord  blessed us with good weather - very hot, but no rain: There was a tremendous response by the people.  In the morning we contacted sixty-six people, from which there were twenty-two responses for people to follow Christ.  (Praise the Lord!) and four reconcilations. In the afternoon door-to-door, we visted thirteen homes, having two reconcilations.

We were blessed with 115 children coming to the first day of VBS, and also had seventeen adults in attendance.

Please continue praying for us for strength and health and safety for the entire team, as we continue doing the work of God.

Today we begin day two of VBS and we pray for salvations.  We are expecting more children to come, and we are prepared to see many children come to know the Lord.

We will stay in touch,

Blessings,
Nicaragua TEAM 2005

Updated Monday, July 18:

We arrived safely and with no troubles at the airport. Pastor Luna and his staff were there to greet us and they transported us to the hotel where we rested and prepared for our first weekend. Every single member of the team is doing well and in good spirits, ready to take on the challenges before us. The climate has been a bit of an adjustment because it has been raining and hot and humid.

On Friday, we attended the first service at Emanuel Baptist. Pastor Cea was asked to give the devotional that evening and we were greeted by the congregation. On Saturday, we attended our first seminar at the Church Emanuel were Ana Carolina Cea addressed the ladies of the congregation. On Sunday, we had a beautiful morning service where we met the rest of the congregation.

.

It is now Monday morning, it has been raining throughout the night.  We would ask for prayer at this time as we begin our door to door and VBS ministries at the local missions.

We are so thankful for all your prayers and support and we count it a blessing to serve our Lord in the country of Nicaragua .

God bless,
