Truong, the host missionary
for the Cambodia ministry,
writes:
Dear Grace Team,
Thank you so much! God
is great and God's mercy endures
forever.
The Mission Trip and Mission
Project was a great success
and it was clear to all who
were there that it was simply
a move of God. The preached
word, the testimonies of God's
love and faith, the engaging
workshops, the new church facility
established, the solar power
system built to provide clean
water to the powerless, the
baptism pool construction to
baptize 150 people, the VBS
and its application to thousand
of children, dozen of people
came to faith in Christ after
hearing the Gospel message,
and the fellowship amongst
believers all testified to
God's presence and faithfulness.
Hallelujah!
I just want to thank each of
you for all of your prayers,
support, and participation. This
Mission Project could not have
happened without your willingness
to submit to God's will for
your life.
I pray that you continue
to seek God in all you do and
that you make Cambodia Mission
Trip a starting point and not
the end.
God has just provided
us a glimpse of how we can
transform this world if our
foundation is in the unity
of Christ Jesus and His power.
Let us move forward boldly
and strategically in this "new"
vision that God has given us.
Dear
Pastor Mike Gaston and the
Mission Department Staff ,
thanks for sending your great
team to Cambodia . Grace Team
was a SUPER UNITY TEAM!
"May the God who gives endurance
and encouragement give you
a spirit of unity among yourselves
as you follow Christ Jesus,
so that with one heart and
mouth you may glorify the God
and Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ."
(Romans 15:5-6)
Forever
His glory.
Your
servant and His,
Tri
Truong

The Cambodia
team arrived home safe and sound
after an exhausting but fruitful
time in Southeast Asia. The
team functioned well, handled
surprises with grace, and made
a lasting impact through chuildren's
ministry, leadership training
and construction. Tri Truong,
the host missionary, is grateful
for Grace's participation.

Jim Gabor)
The
Grace Cambodia Team has been
awesome. The first part of the
trip was in a village that was
the closest thing I'll ever experience
to "jungle
camp"
I'm sure.
We started with a piece of land
that was brush and trees, and
ended up with a framed building
that was approximately 30'x50'. The
local men built a baptistry to
do the first baptisms this village
ever had. The land we built on
came from the man who was the
local Buddhist priest who came
to the Lord not long ago and
now has the beatific smile when
he talks about Jesus, though
he is persecuted by some in the
village. Pastor Tri, Don Lovingfoss
and I were baptising three at
a time!
Children's VBS was a big success.
We also helped in the
contruction of a solar powered
pump for the well, constructed
a tower and installed a 500 gal
water tank. Whew! The sun was
brutal - with the exception of
the daily downpour that turned
everything to mud
We had 40 lay leaders and pastors
for training as well. We had
a regular diet of combination
rice. We retired at night to
our cabins, which were mattresses
on the floor with gorgeous pink
mosquito netting! Beds were limited,
so a lot of us were two to a
bed.
I say all that to say, everyone
has a great attitude. The Grace
family should be proud! And I
think we've had a very positive
effect on the two non-Christian
guys that came over to install
the solar.
We are now in the second town,
where a new first building was
purchased ast month. Some work
was needed...painting, some new
doors and a NEW ROOF! Our team
is pulling it off.
Many children are coming to
VBS, and the pastor's training
continues. There will be a baptism
and dedication service tomorrow
night. Then we are off to Kompot
for a baptism service on Monday!
Keep praying! The air is hot,
the humidity is higher, the internet
is slow...but many are coming
to the Lord!
One prayer request. The church
in Cambodia post-communism is
only a few years old. Just old
enough to begin seeing some attacks
on unity in some places. I'm
teaching on this area to leaders. Pray
that these young leaders will
learn how to handle division.

Monday, July 18 (from Dave
and Sheri Stimson, team members)
Time
is passing by so fast... we've
been busy remodeling the church
building here in Sihanoukville. We
replaced the roof over the
outdoor meeting area, painted
it inside and out, and worked
on the doors.
In the mornings we held VBS
for the children while Jim
Gabor and Jeff Tritt conducted
leadership training. It's
about 100 degrees here and
very muggy. The children
are a lot of fun to spend time
with and the Cambodian team
that we're working alongside
is a great group of people. They've
come from all over Cambodia
to help out - sacrificing time
at work and are also away from
their family, although some
were able to bring some
of their family with them.
Tri treated us all to a great
dinner by the beach the 2nd
night we were here. He's
been fun to work with as his
mind is always working and
thinking about how God will
use him and the resources God
gives him to do more work for
Him here in Cambodia. We're
thankful to be a part of the
ministry here. Last night
we enjoyed an evening of testimonies
and singing and tonight we'll
be part of the dedication service
for the church building. It
will be a special time for
everyone.
Tomorrow
we'll leave here and go to
Phnom Pehn for a day. From
there we'll fly to Ankor Wat
and spend a couple days there. From
there we'll return to Phnom
Pehn's International Airport
to begin our return flight
home. The trip is already
half way over.
So much has happened... there's
so much to process and think
about.
It's exciting to see how God
is working.
Thanks
for remembering us in your
prayers and lifting up our
team. So far we remain
healthy and in good spirits. We
may have one more opportunity
for an update before we leave. We'll
be in touch.

Thursday, July 14: (from Don
Lovingfoss, team leader)
Hello
from Cambodia,
The Cambodia
team received a wonderful send-off
this morning as family members and
friends gathered at 7:00 in the church
parking lot to pray them off. They
are now on the longest flight of
any of our summer teams, passing
though Tokyo and Bangkok before arriving
in Phnom Penh. Pray for safe
travel and energy when they arrive
in Cambodia to start their ministry.
Ministries:
Vacation Bible School , leadership
training, evangelism and construction
in three Cambodian churches.
