Ministry Overview:

The Schwartz family has a multi-faceted ministry like most Christian workers. Their two primary emphases are on discipleship of believers within their local church and evangelism among non-believers, targeting university-aged students.

Where they live:

Sam and Tracey live in the heart of one of the business and university districts of Porto, Portugal. Porto has a population of 1.5 million in the greater area. This world-class city is located on the northern coast of the southwestern most country of Europe and boasts large tourism, fishing, and textile industries along with the world-famous Port wine industry. The climate of Porto is classified as a maritime climate; this means that it receives a good amount of rain in the winter, and warm and drier summers. The country of Portugal sits along the western coast of the Iberian Peninsula that it shares with Spain. It has hundreds of miles of coastline, not too many mountains, but lots of hills, and few flat places. The people of Portugal are very proud of their country and history and 97% consider themselves Roman Catholic. The Portuguese are family oriented, love to eat good food, and adore soccer. These easy-going people are extremely hospitable and do almost anything to enjoy life without having to work excessively hard.

Please pray that Sam and Tracey would continue to make contacts among non-believing university-aged students. And pray that their witness would reflect their love of God as they shepherd both mature and young believers.
