Prayer
Requests:
Pray that Sports Outreach will touch
many lives for Christ as it works
with some of the neediest people
on earth. Pray that the new believers
will grow strong in their faith and
take up leadership roles in the near
future. Pray for protection as they
venture into some of the war zones
of Africa carrying the message of
God’s love. Pray also for their
growing work in Mexico and their
various ministries here in the U.S.

March 2008
Dear Friends:
On behalf of our entire staff I want to thank you for your gift towards the ministry of Sports Outreach. Because of your partnership, hundreds of children in Africa, Mexico and in the U.S. are being touched by the Good News and instructed in Biblical principles.
Each month I have the distinct pleasure of reviewing our staff reports. It is one of the highlights that I look forward to every 30 days. The latest communiques concentrated on our Christmas outreach in Africa. I thought you would enjoy some of the following comments from our staff in Kampala who serve on the front lines of our ministry.
1. In the course of distributing Family Packs and Kids Kits to the poorest of the poor in the Kibali slum, staff members, Samuel and Paul along with their Timothys, came across two Muslim ladies who asked how they could be saved. Our team shared with these women and three days later they came to the local evangelical slum church with whom we partner and surrendered their lives to Christ.
2. In the Nateete slum over 350 children turned out for our annual Christmas party. This special celebration has become the highlight of the year for these kids who have so little. During the party the Christmas story was shared and the gospel was presented. One should also note that during the course of the year Biblical principles are constantly being taught and the good news is shared. Our staff in Nateete slum report that 70 children from this project received Christ as their Saviour during the past 12 months. Isn't that great!
3. After finishing his Christmas meal topped off with a piece of cake one young boy exclaimed, "kate lulinda y' amuaka guija!" (we can't wait for the Christmas party next year!) Another lad said, "songs-coach bulinjo tulya bwetuti!" (Coach, I wish we could eat like this every day!).
4. In the Kaatwe slum over 300 children along with a number of adults participated in their Christmas party. These slum people are so poor and totally ignored by government agencies that it is difficult for them to conceive that anyone really cares for them. Staff member Robert Katende stated that many of these downtrodden people shed tears of joy, jumped up and down and danced in the dirt pathways when they received their Family Packs and Kids Kits. They asked Robert to convey their sincere thanks to all who contributed to this Christmas outreach. Their good fortune was difficult to comprehend but they praised God for sending His Son on that Christmas day long ago.
Thank you once again for making all this and much more, possible. Please know that your prayers and help are making a difference. Scores of people are turning to Christ because they see before their very eyes a demonstration of God's love and concern.
Blessings!
Russ Carr, president
