Thanks for the prayers....

Hello friends,

What an amazing week we had in Mexico with 75 students and staff!  We were able to build 13 structures and 2 cement foundations.  We listened and learned from some incredible missionaries.  Our students were such a blessing to us, each other and the Caravan and Spectrum Ministry staff.  The relationships that were established, the lessons learned, and the service displayed were all a testimony of Christ’s love.    Thank you for your prayers and support for this trip.  It is such a unique and special opportunity for our students to experience.  They came away with more of heart for the needy, appreciative of what they have, and awareness of the mission opportunities and needs around the world.

Thanks for following our blog-Until next year....

Yea Yea

Hey guys! I've been having a great week in Mexico. I'm so glad that I have been given this opportunity to come and serve in God's name. So far I've built two houses and laid down two concrete slabs with Christina, Katelyn, and all the boys! It was a lot of fun being apart of the concrete team. Once we get back from our work day, we pull out the soccer ball and play all the way till dinner. It's so awesome to see God turning in all of our hearts, and watching all of us change dramatically. I hope we have presented a good representation of Jesus each day and that we will bring back what we have learned, and take heart in what it means to mold and change how we live. Please keep us in your prayers and I'm so excited to return and further His kingdom!

Holaaaa from Mexico!!

Hola!! :)

Today our team went to the orphanages and had the opportunity to spend time with about 30 kids at the first and 25 at the second. They were all so adorable and lovable. It was incredible how the language barrier was not an issue in our communication. We were able to play soccer, tic-tac-toe, draw, and run around. I met the cutest little boy named Fernando, who loved soccer and talking about tigers. It was nice having two years of Spanish under my belt and it was amzing to see their patience and willingness to help us communicate. Tomorrow Abbi, Christina, and I get to join some of the guys and be apart of the concrete team... we are really looking forward to it. I look forward to seeing how the Lord will use me in the next couple of days as a testimony of his awesome love, sacrifice and forgiveness. Today's memory verse is Luke 10:27

Katelyn Kennedy

Dad, Mom, Kenzie girl, and Wy man: I love and miss you guys bunches and hope you are all doing well!!!

Llamas from Mexico....

Well, Deb is forcing me to write more than I originally planned on writing. So here it goes.....

This is my second mission trip to Mexico and I'm really excited to see what God has planned for our team. Not much to say right now since it's the first day but hopefully more exciting stories will come later on in the week. We built a house today for a family of 4 or so and our team built it pretty fast. Seeing people here makes me really appreciate all the things I have back home. These people are happy with near to nothing and people back home seem not appreciative of the things they have and they always are wanting more when they don't need more. So, once again, I am very excited to see what God will do this week. I love being here in Mexico. And I love tacos.

I miss mi familia. And Hi to Melissa! and Erin (because I know you're reading this too) Wizard!

We've Arrived

Just wanted to let every one know that we made it here safely.  All the students should be about ready to lay their heads down on their pillows and get some sleep just in time for a 6:30 wake up.  As we build houses and go to the orphanage pray that God would use us in a way that shows His glory to the people we are encountering.

Tonight when we got to Caravan we had orientation we loaded trucks and then we spent time in fellowship together.  What a good first night as our team bonded through games, conversations, and food.  We are looking forward to a great week and all that God has in store.

Well here we are...today is the day 75 students and staff depart for Mexico to partner with Caravan and Spectrum Ministries for Spring Break!  We will be building 15 structures and visiting an orphanage everyday.  Please pray for our safety as we travel, the ministries down there, and our hearts to be softened and humbled.  Pray we bring God glory in everything we do there in Mexico.  Pray that we will come back with a greater understanding of service and missions and where God would have each and every one of us in His plan.

Thank you for all your prayers and support thus far...we will be blogging throughout the week so keep checking for new posts! Love you all!

Adios!
