Baby Dedication
Parent/Child Dedication
is a time when parents publicly express their
commitment to raise their child in a home that
honors Christ. It is also a time to seek the
Lord’s blessing on their
child by declaring that the child belongs to God.
Parents can openly thank the Lord for the privilege
of helping their child learn to respect and love
God and someday see their child come to a personal
relationship with Jesus Christ.
Dedication is
not a means of securing salvation for the child
nor a time for baptism, but rather a commitment
by the parents to model Biblical lifestyles and
to care for their child’s spiritual,
physical, and emotional well-being.
During the dedication,
parents are given an opportunity to express their
desire for their child’s
spiritual development. In addition, the dedication
service gives the parents an opportunity to:
- Publicly affirm their personal faith in Christ
and renew their dedication to Him and His Word.
Renew their commitment to each other as husband
and wife.
- Commit to pray daily
for God’s
direction in their lives and in the
lives of their child.
- Commit to teach
their child, by word and example, the
truths of God’s Word
in their home.
- Commit to faithfully
bring their child to church on Saturdays
or Sundays to learn about the Lord’s
love and how to worship Him.
- Pray for the day
when their child comes to a personal faith in
Christ as soon as he/she is ready.
- Publicly acknowledge
that their child belongs to
God and it is God’s
desire that he/she understand
and experience His Love and serve Him.

Proverbs 16:9
Dedication services are held approximately four
times a year in the Conference Center on a Saturday
night at 5:30. A reception with finger food snacks
is provided afterward and parents are encouraged
to invite friends and family to attend. In addition,
if you have never had a child dedicated at Grace,
you will be asked to attend an informational meeting
approximately one month prior to your child's dedication.
